How to Protect your Family from Mosquito Bites

Take these steps to help protect your family from mosquito bites and reduce your chances of becoming a victim of WNV.

Eliminate any source of standing water you find at home, the work place and anywhere else you spend time

•  Buckets, flower pot saucers and tarps are places where mosquitoes can develop.

  Remember anything that will hold water for a week can produce mosquitoes

  Yard drains frequently have sumps hat hold more than enough water for mosquitoes.

Report any source of standing water that cannot be eliminated to OCVCD

  Abandoned homes with out of service pools present real problems.

  Storm water facilities can produce large numbers of mosquitoes.


Make sure door and window screens are properly installed and in good condition.
